The 50 entries to Abu Dhabi Adventure Race was filled in july and many of the absolut best adventure racers in the world will line up on the starting line. Teams will come from all over the worlc, but we expect the highest competition from New Zealand and France. Many of those teams will miss the great contrast in climate that we will face. After a great winter in november with below 10 degrees celsius and loads of snow, we transfer to 30-40 degrees above zero and a intense sun. That is winter in the middle east...
For this race we know more than normal what to expect. We will race for 6 days, divided into separate sections and with oportunity to sleep and eat in between.
- 10/12 Abu Dhabi City. 22 km canoe, running, swimming. Alain 29 km MTB, 6 km run
- 11/12 Alain. 14 km MTB + 10 km mountain running + canyon
- 12-13/12 90 km MTB + 116 km desert orienteering
- 14-15 Mirfa-Abu Dhab Sea kayaking, 129 km
It has not been easy to simulate desert conditions back home last weeks, but the soft snow has been our substitute for sand and the heat was found in the sauna.
Now there is only rest left to start, where we will have a motivated team consisting of Björn, Martina, Mattias and Robert on the startline.
